Cuba Gooding Jr. has officially been charged with forcible touching. The actor was spotted hand-cuffed after he surrendered to the New York Police Department earlier today.
The Jerry McGuire star turned himself in to authorities Thursday morning to be questioned in the case against him. A woman has accused him of groping her breast at a Manhattan club last Sunday night. Gooding Jr. arrived at the Special Victims Unit in Harlem, along with his lawyer Mark Heller to let the system prove his innocence.
“In my 50 years, almost, of practicing law, I have never seen a case like this one because there is not a scintilla of criminal culpability that can be attributed to Mr. Cuba Gooding Jr. after I have extensively, with my staff, reviewed the video of almost two hours which reflects the entire event for which we are here today,” Heller shared with reporters that were waiting outside the police station to get a glimpse of his client.

Deadline revealed a spokesperson for the NYPD shared the actor has been charged with forcible touching, which is a misdemeanor crime. However, despite facing criminal charges, the 51-year-old continues to maintain his innocence.
Heller elaborated further on how the incident is fabricated and the prosecution unnecessary.
“Mr. Gooding has not acted inappropriately in any shape or form. Nothing in the video could even be considered ambiguous and I, frankly, am shocked and horrified that this case is being prosecuted,” lawyer ended his official message to the press.
Cuba Gooding Jr. expressed to TMZ the other day he believed in the legal system and would let it play out. He shared his trust in the legal system, as well as the fact he knows he did nothing wrong, are the reasons why the Hollywood star is so willingly cooperating with authorities.

In the incident report filed with the police, a 29-year-old woman claims a man she describes as the actor, grabbed her breasts without her permission. She protested at the groping, causing her and the man to get into an argument.
The female immediately left the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge to file the police report. At this time, she has not revealed herself to the media, and the authorities have not released her name to the public.

Next up will be an arraignment, where the actor will plead not guilty, bail will be set and then eventually a trial should the case drag out that long.
