Lion Babe, the R&B/soul duo also known as Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman, have announced their new mixtape Sun Joint.
The 11-track mixtape will be their first new material following the release of their debut album Begin earlier this year. Sun Joint has a feel-good, chilled-out vibe including the duo’s signature technicolor palette of sounds. Soul, funk, electronics and earworm melodies can all be heard throughout.
Tracks like ‘Jazz Drums’ and ‘Endless Summer’, which has just premiered on Stereogum, immediately set the mixtape’s mood. Other highlights such as ‘Tina Turner’ and ‘Don’t You Worry’ expertly match the kinetic energy of their not-to-be-missed live shows.
The mixtape also includes two different interpretations of Begin favourite ‘Jungle Lady’, with remixes featuring Raury and Angel Haze. The Angel Haze-featuring second remix was recently featured on the latest Kitty Cash Love The Free, Volume III mixtape.

To coincide with the mixtape, Lion Babe are kicking off their first North American headlining tour on July 1 at ESSENCE Festival. During July and August, the duo will tour their high-energy show across the U.S and Canada. They will visit cities including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Toronto.
Lion Babe have also made time to play an array of worldwide music festivals this summer. These include the renowned Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds festivals.
